DANIEL MORCOMBE FOUNDATION

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation Inc was established in 2005 as a result of the extraordinary community support shown to the Morcombe family following the abduction and suspected murder of 13 year old Daniel Morcombe on the Sunshine Coast, December 2003.

The Foundation’s motto is “Protection, Safety and Opportunity for our children,” which is enforced by Bruce and Denise Morcombe’s commitment to training and education of school age children.

Bruce and Denise Morcombe’s ‘My Isuzu Story’ recounts how they are committed to continuing to drive their safety message—driving thousands of kilometres each year in their Daniel Morcombe Foundation-branded Isuzu D-MAX—visiting schools to spread their message of child safety.

Isuzu UTE is proud to partner with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation by providing a vehicle that allows Bruce and Denise to deliver presentations to schools across Queensland, implementing the Daniel Morcombe Child Safety curriculum developed in conjunction with the Department of Education, Training and Employment.

Indigenous Literacy Foundation

Established in 2011, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation’s (ILF) purpose is to invest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities to provide the tools and resources they need to shape the direction of their children’s literacy future.

As a Community-led charity, ILF responds to requests from remote Communities for culturally relevant books, including early learning board books, resources, and programs to support Communities to create and publish their stories in languages of their choice.

To date, they have gifted over half a million books to over 400 communities (featuring at least 40% by Indigenous authors and illustrators), published 143 books reflecting 26 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, and supported 83 remote playgroups with early literacy books and learning resources.

Isuzu UTE Australia is proud to be supporting ILF with an Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 – offering on-the-ground support to navigate remote areas in the Northern Territory to deliver these vital literacy programs and learning resources.
