The winner of the Alex Tobin Medal, presented by Isuzu UTE is Nic Milanovic, who caps a spectacular season by taking out this prestigious award.

The 23-year-old delivered 12 goals and six assists from 25 matches in the Isuzu UTE A-League and has been awarded the Alex Tobin Medal, Milanovic is now the owner of a brand-new Isuzu D-MAX, while his junior club, Sydney United Juniors, is the grateful recipient of $10,000 donated by Paramount.

“I just wanted to play my best football for the team. It’s fantastic to come away with an individual award like this, but more importantly to give back to my junior club gives me even more satisfaction.” he said.

The Alex Tobin Medal is awarded to the best player of the Isuzu UTE A-League home and away season as nominated by the Paramount ANZ Football team and aims to support grassroots football. Milanovic received his award on the pitch at Sydney United Sports Centre in Western Sydney’s Edensor Park during training for the club’s current U10s, ensuring a raucously enthusiastic reception from the next generation of Milanovic’s.

“I can’t thank Isuzu UTE and Paramount enough, and I’m really looking forward to getting into the D-MAX,” said Milanovic, whose family once set out on off-roading trips from nearby.

“I love this club, which is why I come back here to help when I can, so giving $10,000 to them was a no-brainer.” A grateful Sydney United club president Mark Ivancic spoke of his pride in Milanovic.

“It’s just an incredible feat to be recognised as the best player in the Isuzu UTE A-League, and at such a young age,” said Ivancic, who has known Milanovic since the star was 13. “I never expected that Nic would achieve this so early in his career, and to hear him speak about his gratitude, and his respect for the club, and how he continues to help, it makes us all proud.”

Sydney United Juniors will use the $10,000 to invest back into the club to maintain their grounds and upgrade its club facilities, ensuring more juniors can one day play in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
