If we were building the perfect MU-X for life on the road, we'd start with the towing essentials. Clearview Towing Mirrors, with a Genuine Tow Bar Kit, Electric Brake Controller and Weight Distribution Hitch would all make the shortlist, helping create a confident towing setup for long-distance travel.
Once towing is sorted, we'd focus on making life easier at camp. For this build, we'd focus on the accessories that help turn a D-MAX into a serious touring and adventure vehicle.
The starting point would be a Genuine Hoopless Bull Bar paired with a Genuine 20” LED lightbar, Warn Winch and Genuine Recovery Points. Together they provide both protection and added confidence when tackling more remote destinations.
Next comes a Genuine Snorkel and Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform, creating space for camping equipment, recovery gear and everything needed for a few days away from civilisation. We’d start by choosing between a Genuine Canopy with Central Locking for a tub-equipped D-MAX, or a Genuine Heavy Duty Steel Tray or Alloy Tray for a durable, versatile setup ready to tackle demanding jobs for Cab Chassis variants.
Next would come Genuine Ladder Racks, Roof Bars and Cargo Nets to maximise carrying capability, while Genuine Under-Tray Tool Boxes and an Under-Tray Water Tank add practical storage solutions for everyday work.
To round out the package, we'd add a Genuine Tow Bar Kit and Trailer Wiring Harness, ensuring the D-MAX is ready to tow equipment, trailers and machinery whenever required.
