Returning in 2022 for its sixth season, The Amazing Race Australia is taking full advantage of international borders opening up – sending contestants on the ultimate race around the world once again. For the first time since 2019, this year’s teams will embark on an overseas adventure – travelling to beautiful and diverse destinations across Australia, Africa, Europe, Asia, South America and North America.
Isuzu UTE Australia are joining forces with the popular globetrotting race to offer contestants the biggest prize in the history of The Amazing Race Australia. Not only will the winning team take home the grand prize of $250,000, they will also drive away in not one, but two brand new cars – an Isuzu D-MAX ute and Isuzu MU-X SUV.
“We’re thrilled to have Isuzu UTE Australia onboard as a sponsor of The Amazing Race Australia in 2022,” said Tamar Hovagimian, Paramount ANZ’s Partnerships Director, Effect.
“Together we’ve developed a truly integrated partnership rewarding not only the contestants but fans of the show with an Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X prize,” she said.
In a world first for The Amazing Race, 20 teams of two will compete for the top prize – with 10 teams starting in Sydney and 10 starting in Melbourne. The twist? Neither of the teams are aware that the other one exists – making for a gripping and surprising start to the new season.
“This has given our teams the experience of a lifetime, as the race usually does, but the anticipation of overseas travel has raised the excitement to the next level,” said Paramount ANZ’s Executive Producer, Tim Ali.
“Racing across six continents, plus a world-first twist for the show, will make for the most exciting and competitive race we’ve ever seen,” he said.

Hosted by former NRL player, Beau Ryan, the new season will push contestants’ minds and bodies to the limit as they decipher clues and take on challenges designed to push them out of their comfort zones. With their eyes set firmly on the record-breaking prize, contestants are ready to do whatever it takes to return home victorious.
The winning team will be able to continue their adventure at home and go their own way on and off the road with their brand-new Isuzu D-MAX ute and 7-seat MU-X SUV.
