

Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s and Ninja A-League Women’s competitions have both concluded in thrilling fashion for the 2024-25 season, with Melbourne City and A-Leagues powerhouse Central Coast Mariners crowned champions respective.
Taking home the title of premiers of the Isuzu UTE A-League in the 2024-25 season on Saturday was Melbourne City defeating hometown Melbourne Victory in the milestone 20th anniversary of Australia’s premier professional football league. The game marked the first Melbourne Derby Grand Final, played in front of a record crowd of 30,000 fans at Melbourne’s AAMI Park.
The historic match saw Melbourne City’s Yonatan Cohen claim the only goal in the first ten minutes, with Melbourne Victory scoreless for the remaining 80 mins. Melbourne City’s Mathew Leckie was awarded the Joe Marston Medal for the best and fairest player of the match for his brave efforts.
The Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final night also celebrated the 2024-25 season’s individual efforts and triumphs, with Western Sydney Wanderers’ star forward, Nicolas Milanovic, named the Alex Tobin Medallist. The accolade was the second of the week for Milanovic, who was also named the recipient of the Johnny Warren Medal, awarded to the best and fairest player of the Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Two weeks prior at the same venue, a crowd of thousands were kept on the edge of their seat with a nail-biting penalty shoot-out in the Ninja A-League Women's Grand Final with Central Coast Mariners taking out the win over Melbourne Victory. Matilda’s star on the rise, Isabel Gomez, was named Player of the Match after a dominant display in midfield, second-half goal and a decisive-penalty.

Concluding the end of season celebrations, the Dolan Warren Awards were held during the lead up to the Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final. Western United’s Jordan Lauton took home the Isuzu UTE Goal of the Year for his incredible bicycle kick goal against Perth Glory in Round 11, while Melbourne Victory’s forward Alana Jančevski took out the Isuzu UTE Goal of the Year with a long range freekick back in Round 13 of the Ninja A-League Women's against Sydney FC.
