You’d be hard pressed to find anyone at your local that wouldn’t mind swapping places with two blokes who’ve just spent the last twenty years fishing, boating and filming their hit fishing Television show, Hook, Line and Sinker. Well, 2020 marks the twentieth year that Hook, Line and Sinker hosts, Nick Duigan and Andrew Hart have been on the air together, taking on-screen antics to all corners of Australia in search of the catch of a lifetime.
“It’s been quite a journey which has taken us to all parts of the country, and to think it started 20 years ago in our home state of Tasmania when we made our first pilot episodes is amazing,” reflected Andrew Hart, co-host of Hook, Line and Sinker.
“This season, our sixteenth full season of the show has a whole lot of different adventures, including motor bikes, waverunners, yachts, old project boats and a brand new Bar Crusher which we tow around behind our magnificent MU-X!”
Debuting in 2000, Hook, Line and Sinker originally set out to film their show in Tasmania, with a focus on local Tassie fish species and iconic-angling destinations. With their ratings on tele growing rapidly, so too did their plan to expand—with the fishing duo taking the next few seasons to the mainland of Australia, which has seen them snag Swordfish up north off the cape, troll for Tuna across the Tasman and battle Barramundi out west in the spectacular Kimberlys.
Twenty years later, Hook, Line and Sinker are back where it all started—returning to Tasmania for their sixteenth season of the show and are set to bring the same light-hearted humour that’s made them a hit to watch. In addition to their usual angling antics and adventures, season sixteen features an action packed weekend of off-roading and fishing alongside Isuzu UTE’s I-Venture Club through Tasmania’s Wild West coast. Both presenters also live out their mid-life crisis by each purchasing a youthful toy to reclaim their years in the form of a very fast motorbike and jetski—no doubt toys that will make 20 Years of their show one not easily forgotten.
Recapping on the previous seasons, Nick and Andrew recently took the show on the road—driving 26,000 kilometres right around the coastline of Australia in their Isuzu D-MAX ute with their 3-tonne Bar Crusher 780 HT in tow. No stranger to capable and reliable brands, the hosts only pick the best for the show and have been proudly driving Isuzu’s for the last few seasons—towing their boats, watercraft and projects all around Australia. Testament to that fact, both Nick and Andrew own their own Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X vehicles which features throughout the show, usually towing something large behind it. For season 16, Hook, Line and Sinker have traded up for a new Isuzu MU-X LS-T, which is set to tow the show’s new 2-tonne Bar Crusher BR670 to new found destinations.
The 1st episode of Hook, Line and Sinker’s new season premiered on 7mate on July 12th 2020 and 7plus streaming on demand, with a total of 13 x 1-hour episodes scheduled to air nationally over the following weeks.
