Adding bold styling and substance to Australia’s best-selling Ute-based SUV, Isuzu UTE Australia has introduced a new special edition based on the top-of-the-range MU-X 4x4 LS-T, the MU-X ONYX Edition.
Limited to an initial availability of only 420 units, the MU-X ONYX Edition will be available to purchase at Isuzu UTE Dealers from the 12th of October 2020, for $56,990 Drive Away, in two premium finishes; Silky White Pearl and Obsidian Grey Mica.

For 2020, we’ve taken it a step further with bold and impactful exterior enhancements and the latest in smartphone connectivity, to make the MU-X ONYX Edition the most desirable MU-X to date,” he said.
Bolder, darker and unmistakably special, the MU-X ONYX Edition modernises the exterior with shadow chrome treatments across the rear tailgate and signature horizontal front grille. Gloss black elements further accentuate the front-end demeanour, which is bolstered by an aggressively-styled lower front chin spoiler. The angled Bi-LED Headlights with LED daytime running lights now benefit from a dusk sensor, automatically illuminating when needed. From the side, the large wing mirrors forgo the usual chrome treatment in favour of the body colour, while the gloss black treatment continues towards the rear, with both sidesteps finished in this premium hue. The rear end receives the same welcomed shadow chrome and gloss black treatment as the front, with the lower rear spoiler commanding the rear, in lieu of the traditional two-tone. Inside the MU-X ONYX Edition, it’s stylish and bold with its quilted-leather accented trim, all of which is highlighted by a high-definition 6.8” infotainment system featuring DAB+ Radio, Sat-Nav, Android Auto™ and wireless Apple CarPlay®.
Based on the top-spec Isuzu MU-X 4x4 LS-T, the ONYX Edition inherits the full suite of key defining features usually reserved to the LS-T, including a six-way electric driver’s seat, quilted-leather accented interior, Passive Entry and Start System (PESS), all of which is powered by Isuzu’s exclusive 3-litre turbo diesel 4JJ1-TC HI powertrain—generating 130kW/430Nm and paired with Isuzu’s proven 6-speed automatic transmission with dual-range ‘Terrain Command’ 4x4. Inside, there is the LS-T standard fitted roof-mounted 10” DVD screen, 8-speaker audio, air-con vents for all rows, three 12-volt outlets; two upfront, one in the rear for fridges and other auxiliaries, and three 5-volt USB ports; two fast-charging 2.1Amp and one 1.0-Amp.
