With Australians currently battling the largest bushfire disaster seen in recent years, Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) is pledging support of $50,000 to the Salvation Army and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to not only help bring some much needed reprieve to the lives affected during this catastrophic time, but to help drive communities to join the appeals.
Recognising that both Australians and wildlife ecosystems have been devastated by these bushfires, the $50,000 donation will be evenly split between the two charities; the Salvation Army, who are at the forefront supporting affected Australians and the World Wildlife Fund, who are saving wildlife and restoring the forest habitats once the fires have cleared.
Since September 2019, over 10 million hectares of land have been engulfed in flames, destroying close to 2,000 homes and affecting hundreds of thousands of lives.
With the bushfires intensifying during the dry and windy conditions over the New Year period, Isuzu UTE Australia Managing Director, Mr. Hiroyasu Sato, is encouraging the public to show their support by donating to help people affected.
“Much of our country is in crisis and need our help, which is why Isuzu UTE is driving support towards the Salvation Army and the World Wildlife Fund—to help Australians in need,” said Mr Sato.
“But, it’s not just the homes of Australians that have been destroyed; the fires have also burnt the habitats of the native wildlife—with reports of close to a billion animals affected by this crisis—which is why the World Wildlife Fund need our help too.”
“Our thoughts and support are with those affected by these catastrophic fires and of course, the Emergency Services and organisations on the fire fronts—fighting to protect the lives of communities and habitats,” he concluded.
